Upper School

Riverpointe Christian Academy uses a Bible-based, Christian K–12 curriculum, consisting of reading programs, core curriculum, required electives, and additional instruction programs.   The core curriculum provides students with academics, skill building, reading practice, character and wisdom training, and knowledge of God and His Word. This complete package begins with reading development and progresses through high school, giving students a solid foundation for pursuing their life goals.

Students who are more skilled may progress at a faster rate or may accelerate in the areas of their academic strengths. Other students are able to complete work on their ability level and to proceed as they are able.

Biblical Principles:

The curriculum integrate Godly character-building lessons into the academic content, and self-instructional activities are carefully designed to develop thinking skills and create mastery learning.

Individualized Learning:

Riverpointe's curriculum stands out from other educational curriculums because of its individualized, self-instructional, mastery-based approach.  With minimal assistance, students are able to absorb subject material according to their own learning ability rather than being pushed forward or held back by their age or "standardized" expectations. For instance, a student placed in the fifth grade by a conventional school may be working in Level 4 math, Level 5 science, and Level 6 English.  Students may move ahead in some subject areas and proceed at a slower pace in others.

Academic Excellence:

The school also employs a mastery based approach to education.  While the world believes a student understanding only 60% of their academic material is acceptable.  We believe our students are capable of more.  The minimum passing grade at Riverpointe is 80%.

New students will be given a diagnostic test.  The diagnostic test results help to identify academic weaknesses and prescribe a path to help students catch up.
